The apartment is close to the shopping-centre,
Schönhauser-Allee-Arkaden and there are also many excellent
bars and restaurants nearby. Käthe-Kollwitz-Platz is another
famous area with nice stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Sometimes
there is also a market with fresh fruit and vegetables, handicrafts
and other little treasures.
For evening entertainment you could visit a concert
at the Kulturbrauerei or watch a basketball game at the Max-Schmeling-Halle.
The Zeiss-Großplanetarium is also not far away.
Berlin has so many sights to see and with the
excellent public transport systems of trams, buses and trains
it is not hard to travel from this apartment to the various places
of interest. Take the 100 bus to see the most famous sights on
If history is your passion you should visit the
Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Checkpoint Charlie and
the associated museum, the DDR Museum and of course the many monuments
and memorials found all over the city.
If you enjoy admiring old churches or other religious
buildings then the Kaiser-Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche, Berliner
Dom, the French and German Cathedrals at Gendarmenmarkt and the
Neue Synagoge should all be on your list of things to do.
Art enthusiasts are in their element in Berlin
with everything from art museums displaying works of art from
all periods, sculptures and amazing architecture right through
to street art including the famous East Side Gallery which hosts
work from many artists along a stretch of the former Berlin Wall.
The brightly decorated Buddy Bears are also something to look
out for while exploring the city.
And of course you cannot miss the iconic attractions
of the Brandenburg Gate, Fernsehturm and Reichstag if you spend
a holiday in Berlin.
