Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate)

Built from 1788-1791 by Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm ll
In 1793 the Quadriga and the Goddess Of Victory Victoria where
added.
From 2000-2002 it was very carefully restored.
You can find the picture of the Brandenburger Tor on the german
50 cent coin.

Built from 1884 -1894 based upon the original design by architect
Paul Wallot.
1933 Reichstag burning
In summer 1995 the Reichstag was wrapped up by artist Christo
and his wife Jean-Claude.
Afterwards the reconstruction based upon the model designed by
english architect Norman Foster took place.
In September 1999 the Federal Assembly (Bundestag) began to work
there.

Built from 1894-1905 based upon the original design by Julius
Raschdorff inspired by Renaissance and Baroque Art.
Many members of the Hohenzollern dynasty from more than 500 years
are buried in the crypt.
From 1975-1993 the damage coming from war was mostly removed.
Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche

Built from 1891-1895 based upon the design by Franz Schwechter
in new romantistic style.
Destroyed in 1943 during the war and rebuild based upon the design
by Egon Eiermann from 1959 - 1961.
The building has the nickname "Lipstick And Powder-Box"
Gendarmenmarkt

Built in 1688 based upon the design by Johann Arnold Nering.
The place is surrounded by the Deutscher Dom(German Dome) the
Konzerthaus (Concert Hall and Theatre) and the Französischen
Dom (French Dome).
>From 1950 till 1991 the place was known as Platz der Akademie
(Academy Place)
You´ll find plenty of shops and restaurants at Gendarmenmarkt.

Built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, finished in 1968.
First museum of the Forum Of Culture at Potsdamer Platz/Berlin-Tiergarten.
The works of Picasso, Klee, Feininger, Kirchner, Dix, Munch and
Kokoschka are exhited there.

Jüdisches Museum (Jewish Museum)

Open since 9th September 2001.
A house with two lines, which infinitely and imaginary go on in
Berlin City space, says architect Daniel Libeskind. In 2007 the
glass yard got a new roof. The design is inspired by jewish festivity
Sukkot.

Tuesday - Sunday 10 am till 8pm
Last entrance one hour before closing time

The building was designed by Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus.
The exhibition shows history, development und influence of the

The Brücke-Museum shows an exhibition of works by the expressionist
artist-group "Brücke" (founded in 1905). You´ll

original graphic works.

Museum Bergruen is located in the western part of the Stülerbau
opposite to the Schloss Charlottenburg. The most important part
of the collection contains more than 100 works of Picasso, other
exciting items are works by Paul Klee and Henri Matisse.
